NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity in Wang Lab

We are looking for early-career researchers interested in applying for the NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship to develop AI-driven methods for cryo-EM/ET, automated data analysis, and the structural study of native neuronal systems.

The Wang Lab at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore welcomes outstanding postdoctoral fellowship candidates who are excited to work at the interface of artificial intelligence, structural biology, neuroscience, and neurodegeneration research.

Fellowship

The NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship supports promising early-career researchers who aim to develop AI methods for challenging scientific problems. The 2026 application deadline is 30 October 2026, 23:59 Singapore time. Research Direction

The fellow will work with Dr. Chuchu Wang to develop and apply AI-driven approaches for:

• Automated analysis of cryo-electron tomography and cryo-electron microscopy data
• Structural studies of native neuronal and synaptic systems
• In situ analysis of protein-lipid interactions in aging and neurodegenerative disease
• Data integration across cryo-EM/ET, cell biology, and mass spectrometry-based multi-omics
• Cryo-FIB milling workflows using Aqilos for native cellular sample preparation

Candidate Profile

We welcome applicants with a PhD in a STEM discipline, especially those with experience or strong interest in one or more of the following areas:

• Artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, or image analysis
• Cryo-EM, cryo-ET, structural biology, biophysics, or cell biology
• Neuroscience, neurodegeneration, membrane biology, or synaptic biology
• Scientific programming and reproducible computational workflows

Candidates should be motivated to build independent research directions, work collaboratively across disciplines, and contribute to a supportive lab environment.
